  16. Upon hearing the news of ESCOM's demise (which I predicted!), I ventured
  17. forth into the bowels of VISCorp's website, desirous of getting a sense,
  18. a sprinkle of intuition (!) about the character and nature of the outfit.

  20. BEHOLD INTREPID AMGANS!! FATE HAS FINALLY REWARDED OUR FAITH AND FORTITUDE!!

  22. First of all, in a truly amazing, totally improbable "twist", it turns 
  23. out that the webmaster of the site is none other than one of the legendary
  24. members of the original design team, the man whose insight and ingenuity
  25. gave us "intuition", correct me if I'm wrong technically, so fundamental
  26. to the Amiga OS architecure: CARL SASSENRATH!!

  28. This is truly poetic justice and definitely warms the cockles of this
  29. Amiga user. Next to the "Field-Of-Dreams" idea of Jay Miner returning from 
  30. beyond, reassembling the old "lovers" team and redirecting the Amiga Adventure
  31. to its rightful place, I am personally prepared to stick my neck out as 
  32. far as it will go and unequivocably state that this is absoutely the very 
  33. best that could have happend to us. Yes, dear friends, I think our troubles
  34. are finally over...

  36. Carl, whom I detect to be imbued by a remarkable dose of humility - since 
  37. on his recent posting here didn't even hint at his legendary status, but just
  38. reassured us that VISCorp is permeated by Amiga fans - is also involved
  39. in the development of their set top device, which, dear people, you must
  40. not fear to be in any way a "rival" to our platform. Rather, the 
  41. possibilities of this emerging technology could well result in the Amiga
  42. re-gaining the kind of prominence and lead it deserves.

  44. I'm sure that in the next few weeks, Carl and the people at VISCorp will
  45. introduce themselves to us amd inform us of their plan, because I'm sure
  46. you don't fork out $ 40 mil without one. I'm also sure that - unlike 
  47. those stiff and distant Teutons - they are totally aware of the nature, 
  48. relevance and importance of the "community" feeling prevalent among Amiga 
  49. users worldwide, not to mention its existing infrastucture of groups, 
  50. shareware geniuses,developers, dealers, writers, whathaveyou, that could 
  51. offer priceless support in helping to negotiate the future.

  53. So, Amigans, get out the drums, kettles, pots and pans and start banging
  54. away. We've come home!
